Ryan was captain at Bournville at the beginning of last season but for various reason the dynamic didn’t work. Mitch had approached Ryan at the end of last season and liked his attitude, focus and ambition. His professional attitude and leadership is respected by players and coaches alike and we anticipate he will be making SRFC his playing home far beyond this season.

Russ Brown - Lock

Russ Brown a second row from Droitwich came to us via a recommendation from Mark George who was impressed with his performances for North Midlands in last seasons very successful cup run. Russ has shown a great deal of experience and maturity in pre-season and is keen to show what he can deliver in Stourbridge colours.

Alex Deery - Scrum-Half

Alex has recently moved into the area having formerly been a rugby league player. He is an agile and aggressive scrum half who can also play out wide. Scrum half will be another hotly contested position, however from the evidence of pre-season Alex will be competing hard for a starting shirt.

Scott Rudge - Hooker

Scott Rudge joins us via Bournville. Scott is a quality player in the loose and can compete well at scrum time, as demonstrated against a very strong Moseley pack in pre-season. Hooker will be a competitive position this season, but we are sure Scott will play a big part in the success of the senior squad this term.
