It is with sadness that we have to report that Past President and club stalwart for over 60 years, Cedric Smith, passed away on New Year’s Day after a brief illness.
Stourbridge Rugby Club was in his veins from his first introduction to the club, which was then in Wollaston, and Cedric undertook numerous committee and non- committee roles over the years. Indeed, even at 86, he was still to be seen sweeping & cleaning the stand in preparation for match day. It is hard to believe that Stourton Park will no longer ring to his dulcet tones urging the referee to “Oh Come On!” or the more usual “Bloody Hell referee!!”
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and his many friends both within the club and the local community.

The funeral will be held at 2.50pm on Thursday 27th January 2022 at Stourbridge Crematorium and after at the club.
